Roast Chinese Lemon Chicken by The Greedy Fox

We love Roast Chicken and this Roast Chinese Lemon Chicken is so simple yet so incredible. Roast Chicken is a smell that reminds us of our childhood, and family meals. Here we have given the humble roast chicken a bit of a twist by adding our Chinese Five Spice Seasoning and a lemon. If you thought normal roast chicken filled your house with an awesome smell, wait until this one is in the oven, pure deliciousness! If you have any leftovers don’t forget about the poor mans duck, once tasted we guarantee it will become a firm family favourite.
Ingredients
1 whole chicken, preferably higher welfare
1 unwaxed lemon
1-2tbsp The Greedy Fox Chinese 5-spice
Salt and pepper
Method
Pre heat oven 180deg
Season the inside of the chicken with a little salt and pepper and 1tbsp The Greedy Fox Chinese 5 spice.
Roll the lemon between your hand and the work top to soften and cut into quarters.
Fill the cavity of the chicken with the lemon quarters [they might not all fit]
Season the chicken skin with a little salt and The Greedy Fox Chinese 5-spice.
Roast in the centre of the oven, cook for 30mins per 500g for example a 1.5kg chicken will take 1hr 30mins.
Carefully remove from the oven, cover with foil and a clean tea towel leave to rest for 15-20 mins.
Shred or slice the roast Chinese lemon
chicken serve with rice or in a salad with a little hoi sin sauce.
